A Wife's Duties

Hindu tradition gives many requirements for the duties of an ideal wife; for example, she is to avoid contact with other men, and is to serve her husband and family first at mealtime. Are these still relevant for our lives today? Do they need to be adapted? How do we try to live these ideals for ourselves?
